The JUPITER AWARD – The people’s choice award for film and television

The JUPITER AWARD is Germany’s biggest people’s choice award for film and television. It has been presented annually by cinema and TV SPIELFILM since 1979. The special part about this award is that the juries and film critics don’t decide who wins – that job belongs to the people.

Every month, TV SPIELFILM and cinema readers cast their votes for the best of cinema and television, and at the end of the year, their favourites will be nominated for the final JUPITER selection.

Over a period of three decades, JUPITER has established itself as a leading platform for the German film industry and awards are presented to film and television favourites in eleven countries and international categories. Bud Spencer was the award’s first winner. Hollywood stars such as George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage, Steven Spielberg, Cameron Diaz and many more have earned the acclaimed JUPITER trophy alongside countless film stars from Germany.

You can find the current award winners on the JUPITER AWARD website.
